Site Fees

Calculator

Static caravan finance calculator.

Lenders show you the monthly payment. This shows what they leave out: the site fee on top, and whether you would still be paying after the park's age limit makes you replace the caravan.

The site fee starts at £3,692, the middle figure across the parks whose fee we hold. Change it to your park's figure. The running costs default to a round £1,000: Haven's own illustration puts insurance, utilities and rates at roughly that. Estimates only: your lender's quote is what counts.

Before you sign a finance agreement

  • Compare the APR with a quote you find yourself, not just the one the park offers.
  • Ask about commission. Parks and dealers are often paid by the lender for arranging finance.
  • Match the term to the age limit. Do not borrow for longer than the caravan can stay on the pitch.
  • Check early repayment. If you sell or part exchange, you will need to settle the loan first.
  • Watch fee holidays. A year or two of free site fees makes the first payments look cheaper than the years that follow.

Common questions

How does static caravan finance work?

Most static caravan finance is a fixed-term loan arranged through the park or a broker, repaid monthly over a set number of years at a stated APR. The caravan usually loses value faster than the loan is paid down, so you can owe more than it is worth for much of the term.

What does the monthly payment not include?

The site fee, insurance, utilities and rates. The site fee alone is a middle figure of £3,692 a year across the parks we hold, which is about £308 a month on top of any finance payment.

Can the loan last longer than the caravan can stay on the pitch?

Yes, and it is worth checking. If a ten year loan is taken on a caravan that has to leave the park in eight years because of the park's age limit, you would still be repaying a loan on a caravan you no longer have. Ask for the age limit in writing before choosing the term.

Does the park earn money from the finance?

It may. Parks and dealers that arrange finance are often paid commission by the lender. Ask whether commission is paid and how much, and compare the APR with a quote you find yourself.
